#131 - Minecraft Parodies Like It's 2014

Hello everybody! Looks like I'm back at it again writing another post. Know what I've been doing? Listening to old Minecraft songs and parodies, primarily from 2012-2014. I remember these well from my early years of Minecraft. But as I sit here today, I realize 2014 was eleven years ago. Time really goes zoom when you're not looking. Anyway, I've been listening to ThnxCya's Love, Lost and Found EP that was released this past summer. There's some pretty cool stuff on there, including demos and unreleased songs I never heard before. He never made too many songs (like ZexyZek or Minecraft4Meh) so it's real easy to get through all of his for both Minecraft and Call of Duty.

I've also been listening to Phantaboulous's songs, and as much as I enjoy them, it bothers me so much that he had two CDs being sold all the way until 2021-ish. It wasn't until 2023 that I decided I wanted to buy them. Makes me mad that I had 7-8 years to acquire both CDs, but never did so. Oh, if only I got back into his songs again around 2020 when I was getting into optical media. -_-

Truth be told, I'm thinking of sending Phantaboulous an email, seeing if he'd be willing to share digital versions. There are a few exclusive songs included between them, that are not around on YouTube. I remember seeing posts back in 2023 of people sharing about the CDs when they purchased them, but now I can't seem to find any trace of those whatsoever. All that can be found these days are song listings and lyrics.

The worst that can happen is he doesn't answer, right?

On a different (music) track, I am nearing the end of music creation for my silly little triangle game. There will be one track for each of the ten story levels and the main menu. So far, the music is completed for the main menu all the way until the seventh story level. I'm currently in the middle of completing the eighth level track, but that will likely take a few more days.

Out of the different creative projects I work on (videos, animations, game development, etc), making music is the most creatively draining. Things just sound better in my head than what I'm able to lay down as tangible audio that other people can listen to. I will say though, using Unreal's Metasounds on a note-by-note basis is not the most flexible way to create music because there is a lot of logical overhead you have to deal with. It functions better as a synthesizer and for bringing together some premade loops.

Looking back at a recent entry, looks like I started rambling on about the Caleb and Sophia series. Oh boy, there are some updates on that, but it'll have to be for an upcoming entry to ensure that all my thoughts can be compiled. Be prepared for what's new for me to share....

To wrap up this entry, turns out people really do check this blog. My last post already has five views, which is half as many views as the post from April last year. That puts it at a three-way tie for second place with entries #007 and #053. My very first post, #000 is currently sitting at 12 views.

Did I mention I've been enjoying playing Minecraft and Phasmophobia with a good buddy of mine, and also talking with her.

Thank you all for reading. Bye!
