#135 - The Lor(e) Party

Hello everybody! I was recently gifted a copy of The Lost Subways of North America, which I've been wanting to acquire for a while. It's a great book, but my Notch it gets tiring to hold because of how large it is. I was gifted it around the same time as Look Who's Back and  Evangelion 3.0 + 1.11.

With that aside, time to update y'all on my Content Warning DVD. I haven't started it yet but I do at least have all the videos ready to go, including one to be used for the main menu background. Hopefully I get to play more tomorrow (more on that later) but anything new will be added to the next DVD, alongside some other recordings that didn't have to be on the first disc. I've still be playing some Crab Champions, but not as much. I have this one run that's been going a good 16 hours or so and oh boy, I'm looking forward to starting something new at this point. I'm already close to Island 550.

Tomorrow, May 31st will be a big day for me. My YouTube channel turns a whopping 10 years old. Yay! I have a list of things I plan on doing, such as Minecraft Nostalgia, Minecraft Legacy, Phasmophobia, Content Warning, Rampage: Total Destruction, and various other things. Now, how will the events unfold? I have no idea. I don't know the future. All I can do is play it by ear. I have more than ten items on the list, and the stream itself is only going to be ten hours, which means each item is going to be less than an hour.

Chances are, I'm going to be super tired by Hour 5, then get really sad that I'm only at the halfway mark... But hey, I plan on inviting multiple folks. How many of them will make it is a different story, but I do hope at some point we can do some private multiplayer games. There is one person in particular who seemed very interested a few weeks ago, but as time passed, hasn't been talking to me much. : ( We shall see if they end up making it.

In the Ultimate Minecraft Polyworld area of things, I've been working hard at updating all the Netherite armor and tool textures for 1.16. I wanted them completely redone because I plan to replace Netherite with titanium, particularly a titanium-gold alloy. I still have more work to do, but the base textures for the tools are complete. The next step is to add some animated golden gears. 👀 I did a basic test with the sword earlier and it turned out decent enough. I got the movement down at a satisfactory level, so the next step is the make the gears look better.

I'm also working more on my triangle game. The guy who I asked to make the music for the test level ended up backing out, particularly because I wanted it done soon™. That's all fine with me, no ill feelings. But it also means I'm working on the music myself. Currently, I have three of the five music layers done. I may or may not work on it tomorrow, depending on my mood. I included "live game development" on the to-do list, so we shall see. It would need to be during a time I'm not spending with other folks.

As I continue to progress through Gaming Mix, I continue to get sad at the amount of compilations there are. There were a bunch a while back, then they eased up for a bit, but now here they are again. I have completed up to #683, which means there are only 17 entries left until I complete 700. Under normal circumstances, that would be around 70 minutes. But how much time is left for me?

10 Hours
43 Minutes
13 Seconds

(Insert muffled scream here).

Ahem.

You've made it this far and might be wondering, "What is the Lore Party?"

The weekend of the 24th to the 26th (because it was Memorial Day here in the US) I went up to the mountains for a (Bach)lor party. I know, terrible pun, but I wasn't the one who came up with it this time. Can't say the same for the puns on my streams though... Anyway, there were four of us and we rented a cabin. We did some axe throwing, fishing, and DnD. Good food was also prepared. Not by me though, I don't cook or grill.

Truth be told, I'm not a big fan of participating in Dungeons and Dragons. I am slow in thinking because I need time to properly process all the information presented to me. DnD involves a lot of improv and reacting to the other participants. The first night we tried did not go well, particularly because another player borderline refused to allow the story to advance by not trusting the person we were supposed to trust. Thankfully, the second night went better and we were able to make some progress.

I took plenty of pictures during the trip and posted a fair amount of them on my 'Gram, if you ever feel like checking them out. However, depending on the number of years later that you are reading this, they might be buried.

I suppose that's about it over here. I did try out R.E.P.O some, and I think it's alright. I like the concept, but the actual gameplay is slow. I think I like Content Warning more, but part of that could be familiarity bias. I also think it's funnier to go back and rewatch what sort of shenanigans happened during gameplay.

Thank you all for reading. Bye!
