#024 - Resolution

Hello everybody! Yesterday involved an unexpected chain of events, but hey, at least now it'll make for a story with substance. Or maybe I should quote the vortigaunt from Half-Life: Alyx and say "Sustenance!" Alright, I'm feeling tired so hopefully, I can wrap this up in good time.

Yesterday, I didn't do much upon waking up. Around 09:30 though, my cousin picked me up. It's the same cousin I roomed with last weekend and it was lightly raining when I left the house. The Costco gas pumps were the first stop before shopping inside. She said something like "Can you pull this for a minute?" and handed me the handle for the foldable wagon she has, which is primarily used for shopping, then proceeded to dig in her purse for the list written on a sticky note. Spoiler alert- I proceeded to pull the wagon for the entire time we were there. Despite all the time she was distracted by stuff, we relatively were not inside for too long.

Joann's was next on the to-do list. We were in there for quite a while looking for specific items such as a specific color of yarn, or for feet to put on the bottom of a bag. There were also plenty more things to distract my cousin. If you have not been able to tell, she gets sidetracked easily. By this time, it was already after 13:00 and we were getting hungry. Back at her house- she stays at my great-grandma's- we unpacked everything and she made lunch. Once lunch was completed, we were able to start our officially planned activity.

Well... almost.

My cousin failed to realize that she only saw the first Jurassic World movie (and of course, the original Jurassic Park trilogy as well) until I explained to her that there were six movies in total. It was then my third time watching Fallen Kingdom and her first. Shortly after it finished, we for sure were on track with the schedule and watched Jurassic World Dominion. I saw the theatrical version in theaters back when it came out, and this time we watched the Extended Version as part of the Ultimate Collection.

The evening was upon us, which meant it was time for dinner. Almost five hours after starting Fallen Kingdom, I was feeling the hunger. Therefore, food was prepared and it was nom-nom time. After dinner was time to talk business. I wanted to purchase the Doom and BioShock collections on the Switch, with the intent of continuing to use her account for the foreseeable future because I don't really want Nintendo to have my information. I agreed to the terms and conditions that applied (no, not literally) and gave her the money. It came out to be almost $50 for nine games and I think nine DLC total. Now mind you, half of that price ended up being the Doom Eternal ultimate edition or something like that. Both Ancient Gods DLC was included and potentially other stuff as well.

After I was able to purchase what I wanted, she(we) looked through the store in case anything else looked interesting. During this time, she received a phone call from a friend and was on there for quite a while. However, my cousin did continue scrolling through various sections of the eShop. By the time the phone call ended, it was already getting moderately late. I then proceeded to text my folks with the news that I would not be returning home after all. Thus, preparations for bed commenced.

An inflatable mattress was set up for me, but I was only on it for a few hours. I woke up around 2 in the morning and realized that it did not retain its air pressure. -_- On to the carpeted floor I went and proceeded to sleep pretty well after that. In the morning (today) my cousin prepared egg tacos and hash browns. She's not an early breakfast eater, so I ate alone. Once I finished with that, we put away the already half-emptied air mattress and got her room back into its standard configuration.

In your time reading this, did you not realize that I haven't explained why I called it "resolution" yet? :p It's because there have been some life things that I've been wanting to share with my cousin for a few weeks now or so. There wasn't much opportunity last weekend because we were busy focusing on stuff, but this morning was finally my chance to speak my mind some. I have been grateful for her being around in the past (on top of the fun I've had spending time with) and knew that she would be a trustworthy person to go to.

Our talk this morning kind of trailed off and ended with her going through my anime list of My Anime List. Not long after that, it was off to church. No Sunday School today because our leader was absent and nothing else was planned. I did see the other attendees during regular time though. After church, I prepared the sermon for uploading to the Tube, played more Breach on Deus Ex, and worked on more game development.

I am very satisfied with how yesterday and today turned out. Tomorrow, I will hopefully, hopefully, finish up on the Gonlerizer UI system. I think I have a plan for modular item slots that will make things all nice and easy for me, in terms of putting UI components together. And with that, we are done for today. Thank you all for reading. Bye!
