#088 - Miles Per Hour!

Hello everybody! I was originally going to title this post "Today is a Good Day" because today was a good day. This morning, I was in a call with Milli for over six hours. Why? Lately, I've been thinking about how long it has been since we have talked voice-to-voice so I asked if she would be willing. That ended up being most of my midday. Unfortunately, my internet cut out at about noon. -_- I hopped on my phone for a bit using cellular data until the home Wi-Fi/ethernet connection was up and going. Have I shared before that my computer has never had Wi-Fi support? My motherboard doesn't support it and I never got a dongle for it. I did however get a dongle with Bluetooth capabilities because I have a Steelseries wireless controller that I used to use a lot on PCSX2.

Did you know I have played a lot of World War Z? Honestly, I enjoy playing it more than I enjoyed watching the movie. Honestly, it feels like the movie was based on the game and not the other way around. Anyway, I bring this up because "Today is a good day." is a quote from Oksana Orlovskaya, which is one of the playable characters in WWZ. I'd get back to playing more but the install size is quite large. Oh yeah, if it wasn't obvious but "88 Miles Per Hour" is a reference to Back to the Future, which is my #1 favorite film series. I haven't really decided on a #1 favorite standalone movie yet.

Between yesterday and today, I went to church, played more Locomotion, finished reading The Encyclopedia of Railways, did my stream at a later time today because I was talking with Milli on top of my internet connection going out (as well as something else I will mention shortly), and found a 64GB MicroSD card to be used for my Switch. Earlier, I installed Doom 2016 and Eternal onto it for the next time I plan on playing on it.

What was the something else I mentioned earlier? Person #3 (if you need your memory refreshed, look back to Post #62 - A Lot of the Same Stuff) was really struggling this day in particular. Since their prom on Saturday the 15th, they have been really low in mind and in spirit. I was thinking about streaming at 15:00 but because they really were wanting someone to talk to and who would listen, I offered up my time availability. Being there for them was more important than the stream which is why I pushed it back another hour. Anyway, we messaged back and forth for a little while in one of the public vent channels on Milli's server. When they were doing better, they thanked me for being a good listener and talker and we gave closing statements.

After that week of Person #2, #3, and #4 each attempting to end their life, I have been very aware of my place in the world at this moment. I am here to provide encouragement and support to the folks I know. I am where I am for a reason. I know who I know for a reason. Those two statements can be applied to your life as well. I'm not perfect and I don't always have the right words to say, but I for sure will do my best because I know I am doing the work for the Lord.

For as long as I have the strength, I will continue to help those with who I am familiar. Thank you all for reading. Bye.
