#130 - I think about this sometimes.
Hello everybody! Has it really been over a year since I made the last post?
I was looking at the view count and by some magical chance, most of them are at 3 views and higher. Y'all are telling me people actually look at my Linktree and click the link to view this blog? I didn't think anybody would've cared enough. Maybe I should continue on here...
Anyway, quite a lot has happened in the past year. Ultimate Minecraft Polyworld just passed 400 episodes and I had a few other series happening within that time. I also published my first book Innocence back in December and watched a total of 949 Doctor Who and spinoff episodes over the span of just 97 days. That's right! After a decade of procrastination, I finally caught up on all available episodes at that time.
As a way to relax, I started a dedicated Beta 1.8.1 world, with a few QoL mods to make the experience slightly better but at some point, I might decide to update it to 1.0.0 if I feel I am completely satisfied with the world. I also started a Beta 1.8.1 world with an online buddy of mine. We haven't been on there in a little bit though because we've been playing Phasmophobia lately.
In addition to getting into Phasmophobia, I've also been trying out Deadlock, which is one of Valve's upcoming games. It also appears that Valve is getting close to announcing Half-Life 3. Whether or not they use that title is up in the air, but there is a high likelihood of at least an announcement by the end of the calendar year. I've been keeping up with Tyler McVicker the Passionate Gamer and his coverage of the topic.
Since I took a rather large pause on major game development after The R.O.O.I.R.S. and the engine upgrade for When Bad Things Arrive, back in January I decided to start something new, but also equally small. It's a game where you mostly play as a triangle but are capable of adjusting how many sides you have. Be on the lookout! It's coming soon.™
Watching A Minecraft Movie was also fun. I've only seen it once so far, but I am currently expecting to see it at least two more times while it's still going in theaters. Chances are that because it is doing well, it will be out for a good while.
And now for the serious stuff.
I haven't made a new post on here in a long time because it fell out of interest. Applicable to many things in the past, I have a hard time staying committed to a repeated task for a lengthy amount such as doing these posts on a regular basis. Did you know I've had a Patreon since 2017? I was supposed to do a revitalization back in 2019 I think, but I didn't get farther than cleaning it up. Whatever content I was supposed to keep putting out never happened. I've been considering discontinuing it because of this.
I'm also terrible at advertising my own stuff, which is why you don't hear me mention my Patreon. I also released a paid game back in 2021 which I don't mention, nor really my book after it was released. I don't want to shill myself to success, I just want to work on the projects I want to work on. As of currently, I am working on my triangle game and chances are once it's out, I won't talk about it much.
I've been enjoying playing Minecraft and Phasmophobia with a good buddy of mine, and also talking with her.
As with everybody else, I also have my own real-life struggles I deal with and don't feel the need to dive too deeply into. I've been doing better these past few weeks, or at least feeling better even though my physical life hasn't changed much. Online is a different experience though, because for the first time in years, it feels like there's actually someone who wants to spend a sizeable amount of time with me that's not superficial.
It's hard for me to see past my own faults though, like irresponsibility or not actively supporting myself for the time being. Perhaps though, there is now one person who can provide the motivation required to get life on the move after not going anywhere for the past 5+ years. But alas, time will tell whether or not I can keep up on my circumstances again or if I'm doomed to repeat my own history. I can be quite stubborn...
I suppose that's all I have to say for now. We'll see when the next one is. I still think about this blog sometimes. Thank you all for reading. Bye!
Did I mention I've been enjoying playing Minecraft and Phasmophobia with a good buddy of mine, and also talking with her.
