#138 - Unfortunate Monetization

Hello everybody! Guess this is my official way of stating I'm no longer active here. This blog was a lot of fun, and hopefully I do, in fact, keep it going, but with how these past few months have been, it seems unlikely. Not too long ago, people actually started paying to become Patreon members. Granted, they both immediately cancelled, but that showed me something. Over the span of 8+ years, I barely used Patreon. It was sad, really. So one day I sat down and cleaned things up. I got my account on there up-to-speed with my current life state and began posting on there semi-frequently. That leads to the eventual downfall on here... Since I've started writing blog posts, essentially, over there, I'm not very interested in writing on here. There's a moderate amount of overlap, and to make sure there is actual value to the things people are paying for, I want to keep it off of here. It is a bummer since I don't like paywalling content, but maybe now I'm starting ...

#137 - It (Was) Morphin' Time!

Hello everybody! On July 21st, 2025, I started a journey unlike any other... Just kidding. I started my journey into the entire Power Rangers franchise. Here are my thoughts... I finished Mighty Morphin' Season 1 on July 27th. My goshness, it was so dated. It was just oozing  low-budget. However, the season did eventually get better. By the original planned ending, episode 40, the quality improved and it wasn't too bad of a sit-through. The bonus 20 episodes were decent enough as well. MMPR S2: August 1st This was a much weaker season. Part of this is because they tried to keep going with the original suits and characters from the first season, even though it was an adaptation of the next Super Sentai season. (If you didn't know Power Rangers was an American adaptation of a Japanese show... well now you know). The overall story was also not as engaging but the writers did a decent job of cobbling something together when half of the main actors walked off set. MMPR S3: Augu...

#136 - The Champion of Crabs

Hello everybody! If you have read my recent posts, then you would know I've been playing Crab Champions. I eventually finished the big run I was on after getting many achievements and getting nearly all regular items to the max level of 255. Since then, I haven't been playing as much because going back to the start has proven to be difficult for me. -_- I've also been tackling more of my triangle game. The new planned release timeframe is October, after the upcoming Steam Next Fest. That gives me enough time to set up a business entity and create the Steam store page. I have already done all the capsule artwork and tags, but I still haven't written the literal page description itself. In the meantime, I've been working on the official demo. It will be a dedicated level (with its own menu) since I don't think the first story level works well for a vertical slice. I also recently played through Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit. It was a pretty good spin-...

#135 - The Lor(e) Party

Hello everybody! I was recently gifted a copy of The Lost Subways of North America , which I've been wanting to acquire for a while. It's a great book, but my Notch it gets tiring to hold because of how large it is. I was gifted it around the same time as Look Who's Back  and  Evangelion 3.0 + 1.11 . With that aside, time to update y'all on my Content Warning DVD. I haven't started it yet  but I do at least have all the videos ready to go, including one to be used for the main menu background. Hopefully I get to play more tomorrow (more on that later) but anything new will be added to the next DVD, alongside some other recordings that didn't have to be on the first disc. I've still be playing some Crab Champions, but not as much. I have this one run that's been going a good 16 hours or so and oh boy, I'm looking forward to starting something new at this point. I'm already close to Island 550. Tomorrow, May 31st will be a big day for me. My YouTu...

#134 - Approaching the End of the To-Do List

Image
Hello everybody! Last night, I reached a big milestone for my triangle game. All story level music tracks have been completed. Party potato! No, this isn't Discord so I don't have the image. Unless... I hope y'all can see that. Good thing I made my own HD recreation of it. Anyway, the last music track that needs to be finished is the music for the test level. I've outsourced Soybean_56 for that, partly because of how tiring it is to create all these unique tunes, but also because, since it is a bonus level, it does not need to be consistent with the rest of the music utilized. I've listened to the two demos he created so far, and oh boy, it is complex when compared to the rest of the music. I gave him the format that the song needed to be in five distinct layers so that there is proper playback with the in-game music system I created. He said five was too limiting and I didn't want to argue with him about keeping things simple. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We'll see what the ...

#133 - He Was Back

Hello everybody! I'm currently going through the extras of Look Who's Back,  but because only the movie had English subtitles, I figured I might as well work on a new post while the deleted and extended(?) scenes are playing. There are about 51 minutes, it would seem, so we shall see how far I get on writing before they end. Anyway, it's about time I catch y'all up on the Caleb and Sophia saga... (I say, then immediately have flashbacks to A Little Snow Fairy Sugar  and Saga, of whom I always called "The Saga Continues" [because that was a shorter name than saying "The Saga of Tanya the Evil {which is a totally unrelated anime}]). Ahem When I last mentioned them back in April 2024, I kicked them out of my head because they stopped paying rent. Since then, they have not been allowed to move back in, but they have come around to knock on my door a few times, as you would expect JW children to do. Before then, in February 2024, I last talked about the 47 ep...

#132 - Capes Galore

Hello everybody! Today Mojang started bringing over Bedrock Edition exclusive capes to Java. Currently, the Founders and Pan Cape were copied with the possibility of the Progressive Cape as well. It'd be nice if they also brought Java capes over to Bedrock because I would like if my Minecon 2016 were available on Bedrock. We shall see as time passes and more capes roll out. Anyway, I've been working a lot on my silly little triangle game. I finally bit the bullet and implemented community level loading. It took a whole lot of logical reasoning and going through every possible solution of what didn't  work. Eventually, I was able to export the level of the dedicated editor project and load that level in the main game itself. Now that the system works, I'll be able to take advantage of the Steam Workshop in the future so that people can easily share or download through there. The game is split into three primary components. First, there is the Living Shapes Engine. This ...

#131 - Minecraft Parodies Like It's 2014

Hello everybody! Looks like I'm back at it again writing another post. Know what I've been doing? Listening to old Minecraft songs and parodies, primarily from 2012-2014. I remember these well from my early years of Minecraft. But as I sit here today, I realize 2014 was eleven years ago. Time really goes zoom when you're not looking. Anyway, I've been listening to ThnxCya's Love, Lost and Found  EP that was released this past summer. There's some pretty cool stuff on there, including demos and unreleased songs I never heard before. He never made too many songs (like ZexyZek or Minecraft4Meh) so it's real easy to get through all of his for both Minecraft and Call of Duty. I've also been listening to Phantaboulous's songs, and as much as I enjoy them, it bothers me so much that he had two CDs being sold all the way until 2021-ish. It wasn't until 2023 that I decided I wanted to buy them. Makes me mad that I had 7-8 years to acquire both CDs, but n...

#130 - I think about this sometimes.

Hello everybody! Has it really been over a year since I made the last post? I was looking at the view count and by some magical chance, most of them are at 3 views and higher. Y'all are telling me people actually look at my Linktree and click the link to view this blog? I didn't think anybody would've cared enough. Maybe I should continue on here... Anyway, quite a lot has happened in the past year. Ultimate Minecraft Polyworld just passed 400 episodes and I had a few other series happening within that time. I also published my first book Innocence  back in December and watched a total of 949 Doctor Who and spinoff episodes over the span of just 97 days. That's right! After a decade of procrastination, I finally caught up on all available episodes at that time. As a way to relax, I started a dedicated Beta 1.8.1 world, with a few QoL mods to make the experience slightly better but at some point, I might decide to update it to 1.0.0 if I feel I am completely satisfied w...

#129 - Return to the Old

Hello everybody! Caleb and Sophia stopped paying rent which meant I had to kick them out of my head. They do not  get to live rent-free in there. With them out, did something take their spot? Predecessor has surprised me by going free. Finally, I don't have to pay $20 to play an upgraded version of Paragon after Epic Games shut it down. It's pretty fun but I can see it becoming repetitive. I've only fought against the AI because I don't trust myself to go against other people I don't know yet. Hopefully some folks I know will join me on this. :S At first, I mostly focused on playing as Grux because his abilities suited my playstyle. After having no idea how to play the first time around, I paused and read what the menus actually told me. Now that I know what I'm supposed to do with the items and abilities, I've branched out some. Khaimera became much more fun when I knew how to use him. I also really like playing as Shinbi now for the same reason. And anoth...

#128 - The Obsession Continues

Hello everybody! I really just couldn't put away my Caleb and Sophia addiction because I've now found two other Tubers who have gone through a bunch of the series. -_- Anyway, I was able to get a lot more done on my Megurigoaka Minecraft map. MegaMinerDL has provided assistance and oh boy do I hope he sticks around more often to help. Other than that, I've been streaming more Minecraft Across the 360. If I get a Switch series going (which requires dumping a whole bunch of data from my physical Switch), I hope to call it Minecraft was Switched. The use of "was" means that this is the old Nintendo Switch Edition and not the modern Bedrock edition running on a Switch. It's also a special birthday tomorrow. My gift for the recipient was a digital poster; a compilation of four photographs. I think it turned out well. Other than that, I really don't have much more to say other than I've been playing a lot of Sven Coop. I really want to reach Level 800 again...

#127 - Old Height Limit

Hello everybody! It's Single's Awareness Day! As someone who has never been in a relationship before, this day is superior to Valentine's Day. Hehehe... Anyway, I've been up to some stuff but not much, I think. I've been tackling a lot more of the new Quickwrite story. I am glad that I'm finally getting it done. Tonight, I'll be starting a re-read to see if anything needs to be improved or if grammar needs to be fixed. Chances are, both will be happening. I've also been working on backing up Omniarchive. Oh boy, it was over 220GB and still not complete. #off-topic was 1.27GB just in the HTML file.  I had to cut it off at around May 22, 2023. Then I got into watching the web series "Become Jehovah's Friend." Why, you may be asking? A YouTube recommendation popped up. It told me about this absurd Jehovah's Witness propaganda. Having now seen all the current 47 entries (2 and a half hours), I can say it is definitely absurd propaganda. It...

#126 - The End of Stuff

Hello everybody! Minecraft Alpha 1.2.6 was the last version of Minecraft Alpha. This weekend was also the last of the annual Quiltin' at the Hilton which lasted 35 years. And tomorrow will be (one of) the last time(s) I see my cousin for a good long while before she moves across the country. And on top of that, 2023 came to an end. So what's been happening? I'm preparing videos for April Fool's Day. It'll be the biggest joke I've ever done, if I can pull it off. I also started playing the game called Far Lands. It's alright, but could use more work. I'll be playing it some more soon, potentially. I've been working more on Innocense: A Quickwrite Story. Man oh man am I having lots of fun. Sure, I'm supposed to be writing the story with three other people. Well guess what. They are taking too dang long! I'm tired of waiting and just want to write the book again. And so, I did. Since the end of December, I've been writing more of the book a...

#125 - It's Been a Year

Hello everybody! It has officially passed a whole year since I started this blog. I would say "yay" but that means I should have over 350 posts by now... As y'all see, I have less than half. I've been quite busy with real-world stuff, primarily helping my cousin get her house clean an empty in preparation for the move out of there. I've also gotten more done on 400 Tiny Books and the Stories Within... but kind of hit a standstill at 259 total entries right now. My last one was from December 20- it's already been a week. :/ I'm sure I'll get back to it soon, I still want the main 400 entries completed by next July and it's still feasible to hit that amount. I have 194 days to go and only 141 entries left. Ready for April Fool's Day? I'm working on it, despite having four months to go. I aim to release at least 12 videos that day- one at every hour. It'll be hilarious to me to have so many videos release on the same day. :P I started on ...

#124 - Stories to be Told

Hello everybody! I was last here on October 2, eh? Oh boy... 400 Tiny Books and the Stories Within is coming along quite nicely. We are at 209 out of 400 Tiny Books completed. I released another Population: Xelanater entry titled Team Treen't Origins. Today was Thanksgiving and not only did I have lunch at my sister's place, I also finished reading The Complete Stories of Flannery O'Connor. Oh boy, you can tell that her writings are definitely from a long time ago. They are no longer deemed culturally appropriate by modern-day standards. Anyway, I have also seen the following anime: FLCL: Grunge Black Bullet FLCL: Shoegaze Vampire Knight Vampire Knight: Guilty Tesla Note And another re-watch of Waiting in the Summer First, I'll talk about FLCL. The original series is unlike any other anime you will ever come across. It is the best definition of "absolutely outrageous" in the most literal sense. The next season produced, Progressive, I also enjoyed. A lot of f...

#123 - The Crashy Version

Hello everybody! I've been moderately busy with stuff, a lot of it was the animation. Yesterday, Sunday the 1st is likely to be the last time I see L, my church acquaintance. Well, for the foreseeable future that is. The animation turned out well and it was successfully delivered on Saturday. She said it was nice and thanked me. Yesterday after church I was able to get a few pictures with her before leaving. I also asked for any other thoughts about the animation. One of the lines in it was something like "You kind of remind me of me, but I could never pinpoint what it was." L said she had the exact same thoughts. My prediction was right. This past Wednesday through Saturday, I was at my great-grandma's house helping my cousin with cleaning. We were able to get done most of the stuff on her to-do list. In my free time though, I've been playing FNaF on the Switch. I ordered the Core Collection on eBay, which is the first five games. Man, the mobile ports are bette...

#122 - Animation Station

Hello everybody! I've been working on a lot of miscellaneous stuff. There are really only a couple of things I'll share more about than just a mention. So, what have I been up to? I've read So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish , Young Zaphod Plays it Safe , and Mostly Harmless . I have seen the 1981 series and 2005 movie for The Hitchhiker's Guide  as well as My Senpai is Annoying , Panzer Dragoon , and Old  (2021). At long last, I also finally watched the last two OVAs for Black Jack . I even picked up the manga for Patema Inverted  despite not being able to read it (beyond the three chapters that were translated online). I've been working on 400 Tiny Books and the Stories Within . We are now at six contributors and 49 entries. My current estimation was that we will be done in about 18 months. My current stream series playing Infdev+ is still going on, with still mostly sticking to two streams a weekday. It is a little tiring though, but I think I'm starting t...

#121 - Welcome to Megurigoaka!

Hello everybody! I worked a wee bit more on my Minecraft Megurgoaka map because I also recorded and edited an update video for it right after. I may have tried a little too hard on some of the jokes, but whatever. The video was completed- that's the important part. It'll go live tomorrow at 08:00, local time. This morning was a regular church day and by the time I got home, I went to work on Megurigoaka. There is nothing else I wish to talk about on here. Well, I did see some of my younger cousins again. They were happy to see me eve though they only remember the last time we met. Tomorrow, there's a chance I'll get to have lunch again with my RCA. But, we shall see if that works out. Thank you all for reading. Bye!

#120 - The LORE!!!

Hello everybody! Today, I spent about 11 and a half hours working on my Minecraft Megurigoaka map. Enriquedem has put quite a lot of time into the city on there as well, so big props to him. Anyway, I needed background noise while working- and a lot of it. So what did I just listen to for hours on end? Video essays involving FNaF. Icebergs, history, and storytelling was the majority of it. I would not be surprised if I dreamed about animatronic bears tonight. Earlier, quite a fascinating experience occurred to me and someone I'll name Cosmonaut. No, she's not Russian, but it's based on her Discord name. Anyway, I was just chilling in Milli's Discord server when I saw a ping come from there: more specifically the main text channel. Cosmonaut asked "Are you actually the real Xelanater?" You see, I have "I am the real Xelanater!" posted in the bio of just about every account online you will fin me in. I've been using it for years, based on a certai...

#119 - My Throat Hurts

Hello everybody! I thought I'd try out two streams a day for a little bit to milk my viewers of watchtime and  because I've started playing the Infdev+ mod made by a guy called Method. Infdev is my favorite era of Minecraft and now I get to enjoy that takes the gameplay and features further along with a bunch of minor improvements that came to vanilla over the years. On Monday I finished The Restaurant at the End of the Universe  so now I'm reading Life, the Universe, and Everything . The original FNaF game turned nine years old yesterday and Ultimate Minecraft Polyworld  turned two today. Not much else to report on for this week. Honestly, I'll probably go back to just one stream a day after this week. Four hours of streaming every day made my throat hurt. I still talk to my RCA frequently, Lura remains in Albania until the end of August, and one of my four friends has been responding to me more frequently. There's really not much else I want to report. Thank you ...
